THANKS to Len Doel, LENSMAN photography for the magazine cover shot of the NZ saddleback. On our recent visit to Tiritiri Matangi saddlebacks would flit through the low branches often just a few feet from us. However getting the bird, the sunlight, the overhanging branch and the camera to co-operate to produce a useable shot was frustrating. After viewing my efforts the decision to go upmarket was easily made.
